The Global Financial Initiatives and Integrity(GFII) team within GFO plays a critical rolesupporting Business and Finance driveninitiatives by ensuring the ongoing integrity ofthe Company’s accounting and financialreporting as required under AEMP 16(American Express’s internal Financial SystemControls Policy that defines a consistentstandard for control and financial reportingrequirements that must be established duringany Technology or system change). GFIl isorganized under the following pillars: GlobalLoyalty & Benefits, Network, & Banking;Global AR, Merchant, & EnterpriseTransformation; Transformation; and Strategy & GFII ProgramManagement Office (PMO). This role, Analyst- Financial Systems, will join one of the pillarsin GFII, responsible for providing analysis andinputs on project initiatives, help defineFinance requirements, develop user stories,and advise on system controls to be in place toensure integrity within our accounting andfinancial reporting processes.
Required Skills and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,Computer Science, Information Systems orsimilar fieldBasic understanding of Finance and/orbusiness systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills aswell as the ability to create impactful relationships with key stakeholders strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated organizational skills withthe ability to meet critical deadlines and support multiple projects simultaneously pre-approved and creative approach tosolving problems
Preferred Qualification
- Some exposure in defining systemdevelopment requirements across Business and Technology
- Some exposure in defining and validatingsystem development and financial testcases
- Basic understanding of projectmanagement and system implementationbackground
- Previous experience in a Finance disciplinesuch as Accounting, Financial Reporting,Regulatory Reporting, ManagementReporting, Treasury, Tax or BankingJob description templates
